Miami-Dade County School Board vice chair Monica Colucci was formally recognized by the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) at the Apr. 22 school board meeting for her distinguished service as president of the FHSAA Board of Directors from 2023 to 2025.

Colucci received a special award presented by Craig Damon, executive director of the FHSAA, who honored her exemplary leadership and steadfast commitment during her tenure as board president.
“I am truly honored to be recognized by the Florida High School Athletic Association,” Colucci said. “Serving as board president from 2023 to 2025 provided a meaningful opportunity to support student-athletes, strengthen educational athletics, and advance the vital role athletics play in students’ lives across our state. I am deeply grateful to the Florida High School Athletic Association for this recognition and to executive director Craig Damon for presenting this award.”
Throughout her service with the FHSAA, Colucci demonstrated a strong commitment to expanding opportunities that foster teamwork, discipline, leadership, and excellence among student- athletes.
