Inspired by the rhythm of the sea and the spirit of the season, Tides and Tidings blends coastal beauty with festive wonder. This year, the Richmond Cottage will be transformed into an enchanting shoreline holiday – where maritime colors meet timeless traditions, and where the natural splendor of South Florida becomes part of the celebration. Each space will tell its own coastal story, weaving together the Estate’s history, its ecological treasures, and the spirit of the holidays. Inspired by Charles Deering’s love for seafaring, adventure, and the natural beauty of Biscayne Bay, the Estate will be transformed into a festive wonderland filled with nautical elegance, ocean-inspired décor, and holiday magic.
At the heart of the theme is a celebration of conservation and connection to the environment – values championed by Charles Deering and carried forward through the Estate’s ongoing conservation and preservation efforts today. Like the tides themselves, the season reminds us of the importance of protecting the treasured ecosystems and cultural landscapes that make this place so special.
Christmas in July marks the official reveal of this year’s inspiration – a joyful preview of the magic to come. As we look ahead to the season of warmth and giving, we invite our community to dive into this early celebration and share in the anticipation of a holiday transformation shaped by the beauty of our waters. The Historic Holiday Décor will be on display daily Friday, Nov. 27, 2026 – Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2027. The Deering Estate is closed on Christmas Day. Please note that the Stone House is closed to the public for renovation and restoration. These efforts help preserve the building’s unique heritage & architectural facets.
