
The Royal Poinciana Festival will take place throughout Miami-Dade County from Saturday, June 6 to Sunday, June 14. This is the 89th annual celebration of our oldest continuing festival in South Florida, and it includes numerous events (many free) over the eight days.

“The Royal Poinciana Festival offers residents and visitors the opportunity to celebrate one of South Florida’s most iconic and beautiful trees,” said Steve Pearson, a longtime festival volunteer leader. “The festival also spotlights the general importance of trees to a healthy environment, and June coincides with the peak annual blossoming of poincianas’ magnificent flowers.”
Festival events include:
Saturday, June 6th, 10 am to noon – Walking tour of the natural hammock at Simpson Park and the historic, poinciana-lined South Miami Avenue. Presented by the Dade Heritage Trust. Meet at Simpson Park, 5 SW 17th Road.
Sunday, June 7th, 10 am to noon – Walking tour of Jean Willis Park, the county’s first and only flowering tree park, located at 7220 SW 61st Court in South Miami. Easy and educational walking tour followed by garden party.
Sunday, June 7th, 6-9 pm – Poinciana Festival Celebration Party and Reception in the Garden House of Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. Bring a dish to share for the potluck dinner and park in the Garden’s old or south entrance. Trolley tours of the Garden, followed at 7 pm by dinner and the presentation of the 2026 Royal Poinciana Festival Queen and Court scholarship recipients.
Monday, June 8th, 7-9 pm – Cocktail party with a paintbrush, a fun and educational experience painting royal poinciana trees at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. No previous art experience necessary. The Miami Art Club will be there with all supplies and to assist.

Thursday, June 11th, 4:30-6 pm – Royal Poinciana Musical Afternoon presented by the Coral Gables Music Club. This is a concert at the Steinway Piano Gallery at 4104 Ponce de Leon Boulevard, featuring rising young pianists. Enjoy a special performance of Poinciana “Song of the Tree.”
Saturday, June 13th, 8 am–12 noon – Poinciana tree planting hosted by the Tropical Flowering Tree Society and TREEmendous Miami at the Miami Springs Golf and Country Club located at 650 Curtis Parkway. Help plant 18 poincianas to create a beautiful and striking display of color.
Sunday, June 14th, 10 am – 1pm – Poinciana Bike Tour led by Bike Walk Coral Gables and Dade Heritage Trust starting at the Coral Gables Museum at 285 Aragon Avenue.
June 14th, 2-5 pm – Royal Poinciana Trolley Tour beginning at the Coral Gables Library at 3443 Segovia Streetes. Narrated by two poinciana experts from the Tropical Flowering Tree Society, the tour includes a stop at the University of Miami’s Gifford Arboretum.
The Royal Poinciana Festival is produced by the Tropical Flowering Tree Society with support from the City of Coral Gables, TREEmendous Miami, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, Coral Gables Music Club, Dade Heritage Trust, Bike Walk Coral Gables, and individual supporters.
