Looks forward to continued collaboration in serving the residents of Miami-Dade

The Miami-Dade Supervisor of Elections (SOE), the Honorable Alina Garcia, sends her gratitude to Chairman Anthony Rodriguez, the Sponsoring Commissioner Oliver G. Gilbert III, the entire Board of County Commissioners, and the Mayor for the passage today of the agreements between the County and the Office of the Supervisor of Elections contained in Agenda Item 8G1.

“In the end, our missions are the same, to serve the residents of Miami-Dade with excellence and integrity,” said Supervisor Garcia.   “The relationship between our Office and the County is a national model of collaboration.”

The approved agreements extends the transition interlocal agreement for successive one year terms; memorializes the lease of the SOE Branch Office at the Stephen P. Clarke Center to allow greater access to election services in the downtown area of Miami-Dade County; provides for the continued hosting of County documents on the Supervisor’s systems until a successor county system can be finalized; approves a crosswalk agreement to protect County and Constitutional Officer employees; and approves an interlocal agreement to allow the SOE to enforce election related county ordinances.

The coordination between the Office of the Supervisor of Elections and the County approved today allows the continued provision of needed services to residents and electors of Miami-Dade County at the highest level of quality and at the lowest cost to the taxpayer.
