CORAL GABLES, FL (April 28, 2026) — The Mosaic Art Fund at the Coral Gables Community Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2026 cycle of grants to professional visual artists in Miami-Dade County. Formerly known as the Corral & Cathers Professional Artist Fund, the program enters its fourth year with an expanded name, a broadened mission, and new donors joining founder Ray Corral and arts advisor Catherine Cathers in support of the region’s working artists.

Applications are open through Thursday, May 14, 2026. Grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded to approximately 12 to 15 professional artists working in visual arts disciplines including craft arts, sculpture, ceramics, mixed media, installation, and digital art. Awards will be presented at a reception in June.

“Three years ago, Catherine and I teamed up to move forward a philanthropy movement, we wanted to do something meaningful, something that would impact artists directly” said founder and partner Ray Corral. “What we didn’t expect was how much the artists would inspire us in return. This year, with new donors joining the movement, we’re able to impact further into the local arts and community as well. Artists are coming forward, excited to be part of what we are doing. We must remember, Coral Gables was envisioned with the arts and as we continue to move forward, our vision of having our own community art space will become a reality for everyone. We’re proud of what this program is becoming, and we’re just getting started one artist at a time.”

The Coral Gables Community Foundation administers the application process and grant awards. Professional artists who reside in Miami-Dade County and are at least 18 years of age are encouraged to apply. The fund supports individual artists only and does not fund organizations, educational institutions, or students.

Applications are open at GablesFoundation.org.

The application deadline is Thursday, May 14, 2026.
