She and her team excel in local advocacy and campaign tactics for a wide range of economic sectors including transportation, development, labor, environmental and resiliency initiatives, hospitality and government procurement.

“I’m good at guiding my clients in the navigation of the complex political landscapes at every level of government,” Carmona said. “I cut my teeth in politics, working for the Hospitality Workers Union and the Miami-Dade County Municipal Employees Union, then joined the lobbying firm of Rubin Turnbull Associates in Tallahassee.”

Those experiences drove her to launch Carmona Advisors in Miami where she was born and raised. Carmona understands the uniqueness of the Miami market and her firm is built on authentic Miami roots and hyper-local expertise.

Through working closely with decision makers and elected officials, Carmona has secured significant victories including expanded workforce housing projects in South Florida, innovative transportation solutions and successful navigation of rigorous procurement processes.

“I work on projects that I feel good about, people with whom I have a shared vision,” she said. “One of my clients is the Miccosukee Tribe, which is near and dear to my heart because I spend a lot of time in the Everglades. On their behalf, I advocate for Everglades protection, clean water initiatives and responsible development practices.”

In the international arena, Carmona represents the State of Qatar through its embassy in the United States, providing public affairs counsel on opportunities and challenges in Florida and Washington, DC. Her expertise and thought leadership in transportation is exemplified by her involvement in the establishment of Miami-Dade’s first Urban Air Mobility Task Force and other transit-oriented development projects.

Carmona’s development portfolio includes major hospitality ventures, housing and mixed-use projects with Terra Group, Crescent Heights, Shoma Group and the Hue Hub. She has been instrumental in the planning and approval of a multi-jurisdictional sports stadium and training facility in Homestead that is slated to open in 2028.

Recently, Carmona partnered with Loud & Live to bring Wodapalooza, the world’s largest fitness festival, to Miami Beach. She also is working in Little Haiti on projects to re-envision and revitalize the neighborhood.

Asked about her plans for the future of the firm, Carmona has a ready answer.

“I would like to bring in talented lobbyists and grow the firm,” she said. “It is our core belief at Carmona Advisors that Miami is cementing its place amongst the greatest cities in the world and our clients are part of the fabric that make Miami the city that it is today.”
