We had a full house at 107 Steak & Bar for the Doral Chamber’s Father’s Day Signature Lunch.
Our featured guest was Florida Lieutenant Governor Jay Collins, and the turnout from our local
business leaders, community partners, and families was fantastic.

Jay’s background is anything but ordinary. Before entering politics, he spent over two decades
as a U.S. Army Green Beret. His military service came with immense personal sacrifice, including
combat injuries that led to the amputation of his leg. Remarkably, instead of stepping back, he
continued to serve as a Green Beret for several more years. Hearing about his determination to
push through adversity was exactly the kind of perspective our business community
appreciates.
What stood out most wasn’t just his speech, but how he interacted with the attendees. He took
the time to talk one-on-one with local entrepreneurs, showing a genuine interest in what makes
Doral’s business scene tick. Because this was our Father’s Day event, his focus on family, hard
work, and responsibility hit close to home for many of the dads in the audience.
Now serving as Lieutenant Governor and running for Governor, Jay continues to draw on that
same action-oriented leadership style. He understands service from the ground up, and it
shows.

A big thank you to the local officials who joined us, including Mayor Christi Fraga, Miami-Dade
Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez, Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia, Miami-Dade School Board
Member Danny Espino, and Doral Councilwoman Nicole Reinoso. Your continued support
means a lot to the Chamber.
This was definitely one of our most memorable luncheons. On behalf of the Doral Chamber of
Commerce, we really appreciate Lieutenant Governor Collins making the trip down to Doral and
sharing his time and experiences with us.
