Held in observance of Older Americans Month, the event honors the legacy of Sen. Claude Denson Pepper, renowned advocate for older adults and vulnerable populations, as well as a key figure in the passage of the Older Americans Act.
A special tribute also was paid to Thelma Gibson, a pioneering woman, passionate community advocate, and founding member of United HomeCare’s Board of Directors, who passed away in February. Her vibrant spirit, generous heart, and enduring legacy of service will continue to inspire residents throughout South Florida.
During a ceremony dedicated to recognition and solidarity, United HomeCare highlighted the work of individuals and institutions whose accomplishments reflect the values of leadership, service, and community commitment that defined Senator Pepper’s life and legacy.
