This achievement reflects the strength of the partnership between Miami-Dade County Public Schools and Miami Dade College, and the shared commitment to expanding opportunity, accelerating learning, and preparing students for success in college, careers, and life.
“Seeing hundreds of our students graduate high school with a college degree already in hand is not just an accomplishment, it is a reflection of what is possible when institutions work together with purpose,” said Roberto J. Alonso, vice chair of the Miami Dade College Board of Trustees and Miami-Dade School Board member. “This is about creating pathways, removing barriers, and giving our students a head start on their future.”
Through dual enrollment and early college programs, students across Miami-Dade are able to take college-level coursework while in high school, dramatically reducing the time and cost required to earn a degree. Programs such as the School for Advanced Studies and other dual enrollment initiatives have become national models for how K-12 and higher education can align to deliver meaningful outcomes for students.
“This is what the future of education should look like,” Alonso added. “A system where students are not confined by traditional timelines, but instead are empowered to move at their own pace, explore opportunities early, and graduate ready to lead.”
“I am incredibly excited to see this level of achievement across our community,” Alonso said. “Congratulations to all of our graduates for this extraordinary accomplishment, and to the teachers, school leaders, and staff who guided them every step of the way. To the families, parents, and abuelos who supported and believed in these students, this celebration belongs to you as well.”
This milestone underscores a broader vision shared by both institutions to build a seamless K–20 pipeline that prepares students not just to graduate, but to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.

“As we continue to rethink education, partnerships like this will be critical,” Alonso said.
“Together, we are not just educating students, we are transforming futures.”
