While we are saddened to see him leave Doral, we are proud to see his leadership recognized at the highest level, as the new Chief of Police for the City of Miami. This appointment is a reflection of the character, experience, and dedication he brought to our city every single day.

At the same time, it is important that we remain focused on what matters most: the safety and stability of our residents. While every elected official has the right to voice their opinion, I do not agree with using this moment to launch attacks against our administration. The reality is that, thanks to the joint efforts of Mayor Christi Fraga, Councilwoman Nicole Reinoso, the administration, and myself, Doral has built one of the strongest police departments it has had in its history, and continues to be one of the safest communities in all of South Florida.
I am confident that by continuing to work together, we will keep strengthening our Police Department and honoring the brave men and women in uniform who protect our city each and every day. Our commitment remains the same: the safety, stability, and trust of the people of Doral.
