The original Bolt developed a loyal following because it delivered something many consumers wanted but few automakers offered: an affordable electric vehicle with practical range.
When Chevrolet discontinued the Bolt after the 2023 model year, many assumed the company was moving on to larger and more expensive EVs. Instead, Chevrolet listened to consumers and brought the Bolt back. The new Bolt arrives in dealerships as an all-new generation built to deliver more technology, faster charging, and greater value.
For South Florida drivers, the Bolt’s appeal is easy to understand. Most daily commutes in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties are relatively short. Drivers spend more time sitting in traffic than covering long highway distances. An electric vehicle that is affordable to purchase and inexpensive to operate makes a great deal of sense.
The new Bolt offers an EPA-estimated range of approximately 262 miles, enough for several days of typical commuting before needing a recharge. Chevrolet also has dramatically improved charging speeds. The new model supports public DC fast charging, making it more than twice as fast to charge as the previous-generation Bolt.
Another major improvement is the adoption of the North American Charging Standard (NACS) charging port, giving Bolt owners access to a significantly expanded charging network. For many consumers who were concerned about charging convenience, this may be one of the vehicle’s most important upgrades.
Inside, Chevrolet has modernized the cabin with an 11.3-inch infotainment screen and an 11-inch digital driver display. The interior feels far more contemporary than the outgoing model, while maintaining the practical layout that Bolt owners appreciated. Buyers can also choose a sporty RS version that adds unique styling features and upgraded equipment.

Performance remains respectable. The front-wheel-drive Bolt uses a single electric motor producing approximately 210 horsepower, providing quick acceleration and responsive handling that should feel familiar to previous Bolt owners.
Perhaps the most impressive feature is the price. Chevrolet has positioned the Bolt as one of America’s most affordable electric vehicles, with pricing starting at $29,000 for the LT and below $32,000 for the RS. In a market where many EVs cost as much as luxury vehicles, the Bolt remains focused on delivering practical transportation rather than unnecessary extravagance.
