MDFR demonstrates rip current rescue
As summer beach attendance increases across Miami-Dade County, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) conducted a live rip current rescue demonstration that highlighted the dangers of one of Florida’s leading water hazards and the lifesaving response of MDFR Ocean Rescue lifeguards. On Thursday, June 11, MDFR Ocean Rescue lifeguards conducted a realistic water rescue scenario at the MDFR Ocean Rescue Haulover Beach Headquarters in North Miami Beach. The demonstration simulated a swimmer caught in a rip current, showcasing the techniques and equipment lifeguards use to safely rescue victims from dangerous surf conditions.
