Civics Academy helps residents
As Miami-Dade County celebrates 250 years of American progress, ingenuity, and civic engagement, the community is invited to be part of the next chapter.

The Miami-Dade Civics Academy, a Miami-Dade 250 initiative, is designed to help residents better understand how local government works, connect with county leaders and departments, and discover ways to make their voices heard.

Whether you are interested in neighborhood issues, public services, community advocacy, or simply learning more about your county government, the Civics Academy provides the knowledge and tools to become a more informed and engaged resident.

You will learn how Miami-Dade County government operates, the services and programs available to residents, how decisions are made and how you can participate, and ways to advocate for your community and make an impact.

Choose the format that works best for you:
• Attend in person at a library location near you, or
• Join virtually through a Zoom-only option.
