The awards, hosted and organized annually by Asia Cargo News, recognize leading service providers, including air and shipping lines, airports and seaports, logistics companies, and other associated industry professionals. The nomination and voting process allowed more than 15,000 readers of Asia Cargo News and e-news subscribers to determine the leading companies in the market and then the winners, making the results the opinion of service users rather than a panel of judges.
Cargo shipments at MIA, the busiest U.S. airport for international freight, skyrocketed by 13.6% to nearly 3.5 million tons in 2025, giving the air cargo hub of the Americas six straight years of record-breaking growth. MIA’s cargo surge in 2025 also helped it leapfrog Louisville and Memphis – the global hubs for UPS and FedEx, respectively – to become the busiest airport for total freight in the U.S. and third in the world, behind only the Asian cargo hubs in Hong Kong and Shanghai.
Congratulations to the entire MIA team on receiving this prestigious global honor for its thriving cargo operations. MIA’s record-setting achievements demonstrate the strength of our workforce and the resilience of our route network. The airport’s unprecedented growth and global reach continue to drive trade, support jobs, and create new business opportunities throughout Miami-Dade County.

Asia Cargo News established the nomination criteria, and following a technical evaluation, the top eight companies in each category were listed on the final ballot. The top four firms in each category made up the final shortlist, with the winners collecting their awards from guest presenters from some of the most prominent players in the Asian freight and logistics industry
With more than 12,000 votes cast, the 2025 AFLAS Awards reflect the industry’s collective voice in recognizing excellence across cargo and logistics. It’s a privilege to spotlight the companies that continue to raise the bar.
