Two awards were presented in the category of Civic Education and Public Information. The first recognizes the creation and deployment of the Miami-Dade Clerk Mobile Application, a secure mobile platform that provides residents with 24/7 access to court and driverrelated services. This national recognition is a testament to the outstanding work of our Technology Services Department (TSD), whose innovation and dedication have transformed the way we serve our community. Their commitment to continuous improvement recently led to the addition of My Property Vault, a feature that allows users to register their properties and receive notifications whenever changes are recorded on their deeds, providing an added layer of protection against potential property fraud.

The second award recognizes the Value Adjustment Board (VAB) Outreach Initiative, which launched a countywide educational effort in 2025 to make the property assessment appeal process more understandable and accessible for taxpayers. Through community presentations and a fully accessible virtual session, residents received clear guidance on petition filing, statutory deadlines, documentation requirements, and VAB procedures.

The Recording Department was also recognized for implementing a new e-recording function that allows customers to securely upload, record, and pay for documents online from any personal computer or mobile device. This initiative enables residents to conduct their business online rather than in line, eliminating the need for in-person visits while streamlining the recording process. Building upon these efforts, the department is currently integrating artificial intelligence technology to accelerate document processing and digitize historical records dating back to the 1800s, making them electronically accessible to constituents for the first time.

In addition, our Central Depository Department team received national recognition for conducting a comprehensive review of its operational areas and implementing innovative, low-cost data solutions that improved efficiency. These enhancements modernized reporting processes and strengthened workload management, resulting in measurable operational improvements.

These national recognitions belong to the dedicated public servants who make up the Clerk of the Court and Comptroller’s Office. I congratulate the Recording Department, Central Depository, Value Adjustment Board, and Technology Services Department for these well-deserved honors and thank them for continuing to raise the bar and demonstrating that innovation, public service, and community engagement go hand in hand at the COCC.
