The Miami Marlins today announced a comprehensive relief effort to support communities impacted by the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela, including a $100,000 donation to Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) to aid emergency response and recovery efforts.

Bringing together the organization, corporate partners, and fans, the initiative will provide financial assistance and critically needed supplies, as well as various opportunities for fans to support relief efforts during the club’s upcoming home series, July 7-9, against the Seattle Mariners at loanDepot park.

“One of the strengths of the South Florida community is how we come together during times of need,” said Bruce Sherman, Miami Marlins Chairman, Principal Owner and Control Person. “We are proud to support relief efforts in Venezuela through our financial donation while working alongside our partners, community organizations, and fans to provide essential supplies and additional aid.”

In addition to the Marlins contribution, this important relief effort is joined by key Marlins Corporate Partners who have added with the following donations to date:

  • loanDepot: Monetary donation to Global Empowerment Mission
  • Goya Foods: 20,000 pounds of food
  • neaū water: Four pallets of water
  • Kellanova: Food products across the various Kellanova brands

Fans attending the July 7-9 series against the Seattle Mariners at loanDepot park will have several opportunities to participate in the relief effort:

  • Donate requested relief items at collection boxes located at the Home Plate Entrance (adjected to intersection of NW 6 ST and NW 16 AVE) for fans wishing to contribute requested relief items.
  • Purchase a specially priced $5 ticket through the designated offer at Marlins.com/WeLoveVenezuela available to fans who bring a requested donation item to the game. For every qualifying ticket purchased, the Marlins will make a $5 donation to the We Love Venezuela Foundation.
  • Participate in the Marlins 50/50 Raffle, with all three games benefitting the We Love Venezuela Foundation.
