The ceremony, held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, brought together city officials, law enforcement leaders, family members, community partners, residents, and business leaders to welcome Chief Castillo as he officially begins his leadership of the Doral Police Department.<\/p>\n

Chief Castillo steps into the role following the departure of former Doral Police Chief Edwin Lopez, who recently left the City of Doral to become the new Chief of Police for the City of Miami Police Department. The transition marks a proud moment for both communities, as Doral celebrates Chief Lopez\u2019s service while welcoming a new leader committed to continuing the department\u2019s growth and success.<\/p>\n
