The legislation ensures that, as the County moves forward with this significant investment in behavioral health services, the facility will operate under a framework that emphasizes measurable outcomes, fiscal responsibility, independent oversight, and long-term sustainability.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday\u2019s unanimous vote represents an important step toward ensuring the Mental Health Center succeeds in its mission of helping residents while remaining accountable to taxpayers,\u201d said Chairman Rodriguez. \u201cExpanding access to mental health care and maintaining strong oversight are not competing priorities. They go hand in hand.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chairman Rodriguez introduced the legislation after calling for additional safeguards to ensure the facility\u2019s operations, finances, and outcomes are regularly evaluated and publicly reviewed.
