The Kiwanis Club of Miami, one of Florida\u2019s oldest and most active Kiwanis chapters, has awarded $200,000 in grants to 15 South Florida charities supporting youth sports and recreational programs.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s contribution brings the organization\u2019s total giving \u2014 through the Miami Kiwanis Youth Foundation \u2014 to approximately $2.8 million during the past 27 years.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know how challenging it has become for charitable organizations to meet rising costs while continuing to serve our community,\u201d said Chuck Little, treasurer of the Kiwanis Club of Miami. \u201cWe\u2019re grateful to be able to help strengthen their efforts and expand opportunities for local youth. Supporting these programs remains our primary investment in the future of South Florida.\u201d<\/p>\n

Founded in 1921 and based in Kendall, the Kiwanis Club of Miami has funded youth sports and recreational initiatives since 2000. The Miami Kiwanis Youth Foundation was established through a bequest from longtime member and South Florida contractor Paul Zee, whose legacy continues to fuel the club\u2019s philanthropic mission.<\/p>\n
