Located at 5360 N. Federal Highway,\u00a0Broward Health\u00a0has transformed a 1.03-acre site into\u00a0a state-of-the-art, two-story,\u00a014,074-square-foot\u00a0emergency room\u00a0designed to deliver hospital-level emergency care\u00a0to\u00a0an anticipated\u00a018,000 patients annually,\u00a0with\u00a0additional\u00a0physician offices on the second floor.<\/p>\n

There are\u00a010 emergency\u00a0exam\u00a0rooms on the first floor\u00a0and\u00a0advanced diagnostic services,\u00a0including CT scans\u00a0and\u00a0X-rays,\u00a0point-of-care laboratory testing, a resuscitation\u00a0room\u00a0and ambulance access.\u00a0Eight\u00a0additional\u00a0exam rooms on the second floor\u00a0are\u00a0designated\u00a0for\u00a0medical and physician offices, further enhancing access to care in the community.<\/p>\n

Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the\u00a0Broward Health Lighthouse Point ER\u00a0will be\u00a0fully licensed and equipped to provide care for both adult and pediatric patients. Patients requiring hospitalization or specialized treatment will have seamless access to Broward Health\u2019s network of hospitals,\u00a0physicians\u00a0and specialty services.<\/p>\n

The project is\u00a0anticipated\u00a0to generate $15 million for the local economy, creating 30 full-time jobs.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0opening of the Broward Health\u00a0Lighthouse Point\u00a0ER\u00a0is part of Broward Health\u2019s broader strategy to\u00a0modernize healthcare delivery and bring services closer to the communities it serves throughout Broward County.<\/p>\n

Reflecting the regional importance of the facility, city officials from Lighthouse Point, Deerfield Beach and Pompano Beach attended to voice their\u00a0strong support\u00a0and enthusiasm.\u00a0The celebration featured remarks from healthcare executives and local leaders who underscored the impact of the new ER on regional healthcare access. During the event, Florida State Representative Chip LaMarca\u2019s office presented the Broward Health leadership team with a special\u00a0tribute\u00a0honoring the new space and recognizing its vital role in the community.<\/p>

\u201cThe opening of our\u00a0first freestanding\u00a0emergency room, located in Lighthouse Point, reflects Broward Health\u2019s commitment to meeting our community where they are and ensuring patients have access to high-quality emergency care when every minute matters,\u201d said Matthew K. Garner, CEO of Broward Health North. \u201cThis new ER not only helps eliminate barriers to care; it also strengthens the seamless, connected\u00a0continuity\u00a0of care that Broward Health delivers across the entire region.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ahead of\u00a0the ceremony, attendees were invited inside for guided tours of the space, offering a firsthand look at the\u00a0ER\u2019s advanced medical capabilities.<\/p>\n

While the\u00a0Broward Health\u00a0Lighthouse Point\u00a0ER\u00a0is slated to begin\u00a0serving the community this\u00a0June, residents in Sunrise and Fort Lauderdale can look forward to\u00a0additional\u00a0ERs\u00a0openings\u00a0in their neighborhoods in the\u00a0very\u00a0near\u00a0future. The\u00a0Broward Health\u00a0Sunrise\u00a0ER\u00a0will offer both adult and pediatric emergency services at West Oakland Park Boulevard and North Pine Island\u00a0Road and\u00a0is\u00a0planning a July 2026 open date.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Broward Health is partnering with the YMCA of South Florida and the City of Fort Lauderdale to bring an\u00a0approximately 10,000-square-foot\u00a0emergency\u00a0care center to Holiday Park. Slated for completion in 2027, the facility will uniquely integrate full emergency services with community health and wellness programming.<\/p>\n
