Even before the shop\u2019s official grand opening, the cozy storefront was buzzing with activity. Community members and longtime friends stop by daily to catch up, reminisce, and sit down for hours of Mahjong around the table.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s become such a hangout that we started calling it The Peach Pit,\u201d joked Denie Harris, referencing the beloved caf\u00e9 from the classic 90\u2019s television show Beverly Hills, 90210, where everyone gathered after school.<\/p>\n

And that description isn\u2019t far off. Mimi Paper & Gifts has the kind of easy charm South Miami has been missing, a quaint, welcoming space where people feel instantly at home.<\/p>\n

Of course, the shop itself is filled with treasures. Shoppers will find beautiful high-end paper, personalized stationery and notepads, unique jewelry, Mahjong sets, thoughtful gifts, and carefully curated items that feel both special and personal. The store also offers stunning gift sets that have quickly become a favorite among local realtors looking for the perfect closing or thank-you gift.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeveral realtor friends have been curating bespoke stationery sets for families as closing gifts. The feedback has been terrific and I have had so much fun putting them together,\u201d said owner Kristin Pearce. \u201cPersonalized stationery is always a welcome gift, especially with a new return address printed on it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The warmth of the shop reflects Pearce herself. A Miami native who grew up in Pinecrest, she has long been known in the region for her jewelry line, Kristin Pearce Designs, which she has showcased for years at pop-up shows across the Southeast.<\/p>

Opening a brick-and-mortar shop has been a dream she\u2019s held onto for a long time.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis has been a lifelong dream for me, and it\u2019s amazing to see it finally come together,\u201d Pearce said. \u201cI love the absolutely perfect spot we found, and I love that people feel so comfortable here. They might come in to buy a gift or something for themselves, but they often end up staying for a chit chat and a diet coke.\u201d<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s exactly what makes Mimi Paper & Gifts so special.<\/p>\n

Beyond shopping, the store is already hosting events that bring the community together from book club meetings, needlepoint gatherings to a weekly Mahjong Monday gathering with open play.<\/p>\n
