On June 5<\/span><span>th<\/span><span>, the 12 inductees from the 2026 class were celebrated at the annual ceremony.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/miamimovershub.com\/?p=1025\">\u2018Red, White &amp; Grove: 250 United\u2019 to Celebrate America\u2019s 250th Anniversary at Peacock Park<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cOur inductees\u2019 accomplishments demonstrate the power of education to create opportunity and drive positive change,\u201d said Miami Dade College President Madeline Pumariega. \u201cWe\u2019re proud to recognize this remarkable group of alumni whose leadership and service continue to inspire our students and strengthen the communities they serve.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The 2026 inductees include U.S. Ambassador Bernie Navarro, Dr. Paul S. George, Kamila E. Pritchett, Joshua Pascual, Emilio Cabrera, Beatriz Azcuy, Silvia Rios Fortun, Chief Fernando Gomez, Senator Rene Garc\u00eda, Nestor Machado, Coach Francisco J. Martin and Ernesto Arguello.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>One inductee, resident Historian at Museum of Miami Dr. Paul S. George, is a widely respected historian, educator and storyteller whose dedication to preserving and illuminating the rich history of Miami spans more than four decades. He taught history at Miami Dade College and the University of Miami and is the author and co-author of numerous books and scholarly works focused on South Florida\u2019s past.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI wasn\u2019t sure where I was going when I graduated from high school but I knew I did well in history and that I was staying in Miami for college. Miami Dade was the perfect place for me. The classes were small and I received lots of encouragement from the faculty,\u201d said George. \u201cThe college provided the environment for me to build confidence, develop good study habits and learn to think. It was a very positive experience for me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/miamimovershub.com\/?p=1021\">WM Begins Service in the City of West Park on July 1<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span>Another inductee, Kamila E.Pritchett, president and CEO of The Black Archives History and Research Foundation of South Florida, had this to say: \u201cMy time at Miami Dade College was a formative time of my life. I became engaged with writing and was encouraged to write for the school newspaper. I ended up becoming the editor in chief. I graduated with a whole new purpose and excitement for a career as a journalist.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The annual ceremony on June 5<\/span><span>th<\/span><span> brought together alumni, community leaders, donors and supporters\u00a0to celebrate the college.
